Diagnostic Radiology Albuquerque: You Have a Choice
The phrase we don’t have those services available in our city may be all too familiar to you if you live in New Mexico. Many times patients are unaware of their options and find themselves waiting to get a procedure done or driving long distances only to be told that the hospital in question doesn’t offer the imaging or radiology procedures they need. Thanks to the seven imaging centers we have available throughout the state, however, patients can now choose where they go to get diagnosed thanks to their access to diagnostic imaging Albuquerque options.
Types of X-rays
There are many types of x-rays that can be used to diagnose problems. Diagnostic Radiology Albuquerque offers seven imaging centers that can provide the x-ray you need. The most common type of x-ray is the chest x-ray, which is used to detect problems in the lungs. Other types of x-rays include the abdominal x-ray, which is used to look at the organs in the abdomen, and the pelvic x-ray, which is used to look at the bones and joints in the pelvis.
CT Scan
A CT scan is an imaging test that uses X-rays and computer technology to create detailed pictures of the inside of your body. A CT scan can be used to detect problems such as tumors, infections, or bleeding. It can also be used to guide procedures such as biopsies or surgery. Diagnostic Radiology Albuquerque offers seven convenient locations throughout the state. We offer a wide range of services, including CT scans, MRI, PET/CT, and more. We are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality care possible.
MRI
If you’re in need of an MRI, you’ll be glad to know that Diagnostic Radiology Albuquerque offers seven convenient locations throughout the state. Plus, we offer the latest in MRI technology, so you can be sure you’re getting the best possible care. Whether you’re in Albuquerque or elsewhere in New Mexico, we hope you’ll choose us for your diagnostic imaging needs.
Ultrasound
An ultrasound is a medical test that uses sound waves to create images of internal organs and structures. The test is also called sonography. Ultrasounds are used to examine the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, liver, and other organs. They can also be used to look at a baby during pregnancy.
An ultrasound does not use ionizing radiation (x-rays). Because of this, it is considered a safe imaging test.
PET Scans
A PET scan is an imaging test that helps reveal how your tissues and organs are functioning. A PET scan uses radioactive tracers that are injected into your body. The tracers travel through your bloodstream and collect in the organs and tissues being examined. The scanner detects the radiation from the tracers and creates images of your organs and tissues. The images can then be used to look for changes in organ function.
Bone Density Scans
A bone density scan is an X-ray that measures how many grams of calcium and other bone minerals are packed into a segment of bone. The denser the bone, the more minerals it contains. A bone density test is used to diagnose osteoporosis, and to predict your risk for fractures (broken bones).
Breast Tomosynthesis
Albuquerque Breast Tomosynthesis is the latest advancement in breast cancer detection. This 3D imaging technology produces a clear, highly-detailed image of the breast, making it easier to detect cancer in its earliest stages.
Tomosynthesis is especially beneficial for women with dense breast tissue, as it can help to see through this tissue more clearly.
At Diagnostic Radiology Albuquerque, we are proud to offer this cutting-edge technology to our patients.
If you have been diagnosed with breast cancer, or are at high risk for the disease, please call us today to schedule a consultation. We will work with you to create a treatment plan that is right for you.
