This is an easy one! When you’re giving a presentation, it’s important to keep in mind your audience. What do they want to learn from you? What are their concerns? Tailor your content and delivery to fit their needs. To make every presentation a great presentation, follow these three steps:
- Always start with a joke- It makes the audience feel comfortable and you will be more relaxed.
- Make sure you decorate your presentation with charts, graphs, and funny pictures- They are much better than plain text. Your presentation will be more interesting for the audience. It’s always good to try saying something funny.
- You should also be aware of your body language and how it’s affecting your presentation- Make sure you’re standing up straight and speaking clearly. Keep your movements minimal, and avoid fidgeting.
- Exude a sense of excitement- The audience will be drawn in and captivated if you show that you care about what you’re talking about. It’s a pleasure to listen to those who are enthusiastic about passing on their expertise to others.
- Find a mentor or look up to someone who inspires you- While it’s important to cultivate your unique speaking style, it may also be beneficial to learn from the best. Seek a mentor in your organization who you regard as an excellent communicator. Make it clear what you want from the relationship and what you want to get out of it.
- Make Sure You Stick to the Plan You’ve Tried Out- To practice using an outline or the ‘pause, portion, section’ strategy that we outlined above, you followed our advice. You may have even employed mnemonic aids or notes from the lecturer.
Put them to good use. It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you do it the way you’ve learned. As you can see, it’s a brief piece of advice here. Rehearsing is more crucial than you would believe at first, and this message serves as a reminder of that. Preparation is the only way to feel more confident before delivering a speech or presentation.
- Assemble your mental, emotional and technical resources- You may have previously given presentations before, most likely in college. A classroom and a TED stage, on the other hand, are rather different. Isn’t it the same for an online summit using Zoom, which is becoming more popular?
But let’s get one thing out of the way first, we’re not talking about any old presentation – these are presentations with a lot on the line, and they need to be top-notch.
- Delivery- Try to keep a “real” audience in front of you, that is, someone who might be your client, and not just your friends. Get feedback from them.
- Ask yourself- “What would make this learning experience the most pleasurable and effective possible?” when you are designing and delivering your presentation design. This might include moving about the stage, explaining a difficult idea in more depth, or allowing the audience to join in some manner.
Don’t be afraid to be bold. Practice as much as you can because the more you rehearse, the better your presentation will be. Never forget to thank the people who helped you!
