Get Your Legit Emotional Support Animal Letter in California
Using a pet to help with mental and emotional disorders has been shown in studies to reduce symptoms. The United States government recognises the importance of emotional support animals for these patients, which is why they enacted ESA federal laws to protect them.
ESA Letter is a recommendation that states that an individual use an Emotional Support Animal to help them recover from intense emotions and mental illness. Obtaining an ESA Letter from a legitimate Mental Health Professional grants you some unique benefits, such as the ability to stay with your pet while using the ESA Letter for Housing service. California has also passed some state laws to help with the job and transportation shortages.

New California Emotional Support Animal Laws (AB 468)
To begin, Emotional Support Animals are distinct from service animals for the following reasons:
- Individuals with disabilities adopt emotional support animals under the DSM-V, whereas patients with disabilities adopt service animals under the American Disabilities Act.
- Emotional Assistance Animals do not need special training, whereas service animals are trained to help their owners.
- You can designate almost any animal as your Emotional Support Animal, though dogs and, in some cases, miniature horses are preferred.
These activities are illegal, and in order to put a stop to them, the recent emotional support animals California law, AB 468, which was passed last year on September 16, 2021, went into effect on January 1, 2022.
While giving an emotional support dog, they also have to provide written notice in 12 points bold type to the customer or recipient, stating that;
- The dog is not trained as a guard, service, or signal dog.
- The dog cannot savor any rights exclusively provided to guard, service, or signal dogs.
- If anyone intentionally and falsely claims themselves to be the owner or coach of a guard, service, or signal dog is guilty of violating Section 365.7 of the Penal Code.
