Homeboy Bars Group founders Ciarán Smith & Aaron Wall and Conor Bartley, who is a hotel manager at the St Pancras Renaissance, have collaborated to open the Bottle Cocktail Shop in London.
The Bottle Cocktail Shop will carry a variety of shelf-ready bottled drinks that will delight both expert cocktail drinkers and cocktail beginners.
As the home of Modern Irish Hospitality and the highly renowned crew behind Homeboy Bars, our goal is to present a well-curated collection of world-class bottled drinks. The Tailor-Made programme will enable us to produce unique bottled cocktail recipes and labels for the On Trade as well as the consumer market, even though our primary focus will be on retail. Our services may be tailored to meet the demands of every occasion, from a wedding to a casual gathering.
They have:
Whiskey
According to US law, straight whiskey must include at least 51% of a single grain, be aged for at least two years in new, charred oak barrels, and be distilled not more than 160 times. Only maize whiskey, which does not need to be matured, is an exception to this rule. There can be no age listed on the label if the whiskey has not been matured for at least four years in a barrel.
Bourbon
Only Kentucky produces straight Bourbon, however it may be made in any US state. To make bourbon, the mash bill must include at least 51 percent corn, and it must be distilled to a strength below 160 proof and matured in new white American oak barrels for at least two years before it may be reduced to less than 80 proof, or 40 percent ABV. There must be a statement on the label of any Bourbon that has been matured for less than four years In order to determine how old a bottle of whiskey is, one must look at the label.
Spirits of the Ozarks
There are two main distinctions between Tennessee sour mash and Bourbon: Before new oak ageing, it must be filtered through charred sugar maple charcoal after distillation and before to new oak ageing (know as the Lincoln County Process.) The spirit is dripped over charcoal vats for 10-12 days to remove contaminants from the distillate.
Aperitifs made with wine
Vermouth is not aperitif wine since it does not include wormwood leaves and may be made with red wine as well as white.
Bitters
These herbal infusions and distillates were initially made by mediaeval apothecaries in Northern Europe (Italy, France, and Spain) and given as health tonics by monks and herbalists. In the 16th century, companies like Lucas Bols introduced commercial bitters to the Netherlands.
Liqueurs
Mixing or redistilling spirit with flavorings and/or colorings to create a sweetened alcoholic beverage. Liquor in Europe must have at least 15% alcohol by volume and include no less than 100g of sugar per litre. Staining and/or macerating (chopping up the flavor component to expose more surface area or permeate the object further), infusing, which is steeping (also known as digesting), may also be used.
