A cool mom really just isn’t a regular mom and if you have one you’ll feel me on this.

A cool mom really is just like having a real-life Kris Jenner, she’s a mom but also an awesome bestie at the same time! (If you aren’t into the Kardashians it’s basically like an episode of Gillmore Girls.)

Growing up with a cool mom means all of your friends love your mom almost as much or even more then they love you. You get used to it.

My cool mom is the perfect balance of what every other mom does and says, but she’s also the greatest friend I could ever ask for.

You can tell her everything and receive the best advice, the type of advice a friend your age just can’t give.

Get yourself a mom who will whip and nae-nae in the car with you.

A cool mom is someone who digs our generation’s music and even sings and dances with you whenever you are together.

Oh, and my cool mom, yeah I’m definitely never embarrassed to be out in public with her, she’s just that cool.

Having a cool mom who just so happens to also be beautiful just makes her even cooler.

We share makeup and clothes and shop just like friends do, but no one will give you a more honest opinion than a cool mom does.

If you have a cool mom you know all your friends are on a first-name basis, “Mrs. so-and-so” just doesn’t fly around a cool mom.

Cool moms make the best DD’s.

A cool mom will always be there for you no matter what time the party ends, she’ll always be there to pick your drunk self up, even if it’s 3:00 in the morning.

 

She’ll ask you things like, “So how was the boy? Anyone cute?”

Don’t even get her started on girl drama.

Once someone crosses you and you’ve told your mom about it that person will forever be on a cool mom‘s sh*t list.

If you get really lucky your cool mom might even go out with you and your friends. Not only will she be the ‘MILF’ in the room but she will be the best wing woman around.

There is truly nothing better than having a cool mom because she just gets it.

Dear Mom,

I just wanted to say thank you for being the best role model a girl could ask for. For all those times that I complained about something that seemed like such a big deal at the time, thank you for keeping me sane and assuring me you just want the best for me. Although oftentimes I don’t show it, I would be lost without you.

Your constant guidance has taught me many things throughout these years. Without you, I would never know right from wrong. Whether it was as simple as an inappropriate outfit I wore at the age of 16, or as stressful as what I wanted to do when I grow up, you have always been right there guiding me in the right direction.

Your constant love inspires me. You never fail to cheer me up when I’m sad or send me an “I love you” text message, just because. When I’m having a bad day, one minute I’m in the best mood ever and the next I’m miserable and for some reason, you don’t get upset.

 

I know you will always tell me the truth. Whether I want to hear it or not, you know what’s best and you make sure I know that. I know I can always look to you for advice because you will tell me how it is and that’s what I love about you.

Thanks for being my biggest fan. Ever since I was a little girl you have been at everything. Every awards ceremony, every sports game, every dance recital, and every birthday party. Rain or shine, I know I can count on you to be there, and to be honest, that’s the best feeling in the world.

You’re my “go-to.” If I have a question involving school, boys, friends, work, sickness or dinner, you know the answer. They say moms know everything and they’re not wrong. I don’t know how you do it, but your intelligence amazes me.

Lastly, thank you for being my best friend. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without you. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have a mother like you and I wouldn’t change it for a thing. Even though we have had our fair share of disagreements, we make up for it with all the good times and memories we share together. I just want you to know, you are the best mom in the whole wide world and I hope someday I am half the woman you are.

A letter to the woman who made me the woman I am today.

Dear Mom,

Now that I’m older, I definitely appreciate you a lot more than I did as a kid. I appreciate the little things, from the random text messages to constantly tagging me on Facebook in your “funny” photos and sending me pins of stuff I like on Pinterest. Now that I’m older, I can look back and realize that everything I am is all because of you.

You’ve made me strong but realize it’s okay to cry. You’ve shown me how a mother gives everything to her children to give them a better life than she had, even when she’s left with nothing. And, most importantly you’ve taught me to never give up and without this, I would not be where I am today.

Mom, now that I’m older, I realize that you’re the best friend I’m ever going to have. You cheer me on when I try new things and support me in deciding to be whatever person I want to be. Thank you for never telling me I can’t do something and helping me figure out ways to be the best woman I can be. Your love for me is unconditional. They say true, unconditional love can only come from God, but mom, I think you’re a pretty close second.

Now that I’m older, I don’t get to see you as much. But not seeing you as much just makes the times I do get to see you the absolute best, and I look forward to it every time. Now that I’m older, I’m not going to live at home. But, I promise to always come back because I know the door is always open. Your house is always going to be my home, and no other place is going to be the same.

Now that I’m older, I realize how much I miss you taking care of me. I miss you making me dinner, making sure I was doing well in school, and taking me to endless appointments. I miss you waking me up for school and then waking me up again because I didn’t listen the first time.

But, Mom, now that I’m older, I can see all that you’ve done for me. I can look back and see how big of a brat I was but you still loved me (and let me live) anyways. I can understand why you did certain things and frankly, you’re one bada** of a woman.

To have you as my mom and my best friend has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. So, Mom, now that I’m older, thank you, for everything.
